Veelgestelde vragen

Waar kan ik LucieClass downloaden?

Nog nergens: LucieClass is nog niet uit. De eerste versie komt naar de Mac. Er is nog geen releasedatum.

Heb ik een account nodig?

Nee.

Werkt LucieClass zonder internet?

Ja.

  • Apple Intelligence, op geschikte Mac-computers met macOS 26 of nieuwer;
  • een open model dat je downloadt, zoals Mistral, Qwen of Phi;
  • een AI-server op je eigen Mac, zoals Ollama of LM Studio;

  • je Mac heeft nog geen macOS 26;
  • je Mac is niet geschikt voor Apple Intelligence;
  • Apple Intelligence staat uit in de systeeminstellingen van macOS;
  • het model wordt nog gedownload door macOS;

  4. Controleer of alles is overgekomen.

Frequently asked questions

Where can I download LucieClass?

Nowhere yet: LucieClass isn't out. The first version is coming to the Mac. There is no release date yet.

Do I need an account?

No. When you first start the app, you pick a folder on your Mac as your Library and you're ready to go.

Does LucieClass work offline?

Yes. Your files, flashcards and planner work offline, and Lucie works offline with Apple Intelligence or a downloaded model. You need internet to download a model, when you use your own account with an AI provider, or when you add a web page as a source.

How do I choose how Lucie works?

In the app's settings, under Lucie & AI. You can choose:

  • Apple Intelligence, on supported Mac computers with macOS 26 or later;
  • an open model you download, such as Mistral, Qwen or Phi;
  • an AI server on your own Mac, such as Ollama or LM Studio;
  • your own account with OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini or OpenRouter.

For your own account, LucieClass first asks for your consent and shows what goes to that provider. You can withdraw that consent and remove your key later.

Apple Intelligence doesn't work. Why?

LucieClass tells you why Apple Intelligence isn't available. It's usually one of these:

  • your Mac isn't on macOS 26 yet;
  • your Mac isn't eligible for Apple Intelligence;
  • Apple Intelligence is turned off in the macOS system settings;
  • macOS is still downloading the model;
  • Apple Intelligence doesn't support the language you use in LucieClass yet.

You can also download an open model; that works on every Mac LucieClass supports.

Which model should I download?

LucieClass recommends a model that suits your Mac. Smaller models need less memory and disk space and are faster; larger models often give better answers. A model takes about 1 to 5 GB of disk space. You can remove models again in the app.

It says my Library is open on another computer.

LucieClass keeps track of which computer your Library is open on. Close LucieClass on the other computer and wait until the cloud folder has finished syncing before you continue. That prevents the same files from being changed in two places at once.

LucieClass asks me to find my Library again.

That happens when LucieClass can no longer open the folder, for example because you moved or renamed it, or because the disk it's on isn't connected. Point LucieClass to the folder again; nothing is lost.

Can I take my files to another app?

Your files are ordinary files in your Library folder. You can export your planner as an .ics file, which most calendar apps can open.

Moving your Library to a cloud folder

Want to use your Library on another computer too, or keep a copy in the cloud? Put it in your own Google Drive, OneDrive or iCloud Drive folder. LucieClass itself never connects to those services; the service's app on your Mac does the syncing.

  1. Make sure Google Drive, OneDrive or iCloud Drive is set up on your Mac and syncing.
  2. In LucieClass, go to Storage, choose to move your Library and pick a new or empty folder inside your cloud folder.
  3. LucieClass copies your Library to that folder and works from the new location from then on.
  4. Check that everything came across. You can then delete the old folder yourself.

On a second Mac: wait until the cloud folder has fully synced, open LucieClass and choose the same folder when you first start it. LucieClass then opens your existing Library. Don't use the Library on two computers at the same time.
